Local Artist Exhibits at Gary's

Gary’s Garden Center is now featuring local artists in the Tower room of the nursery during the spring and summer months.

Nan McGarity will be the featured artist at Gary’s Garden Center August 9 - 31. She will be displaying her beautiful floral paintings in Gary’s indoor courtyard. You can drop by anytime during business hours to stroll though the courtyard and view this vibrant display of Nan’s oil paintings which will be nestled among the beautiful plants in the courtyard garden.

Nan is also inviting children of all ages to join her August 14 10:00-1:00 to a Paint in the Garden Party. The children will participate in creating a “Nan and Friends Painting” and  get a mini lesson on how to critique art. Parents can contact Nan at www.historicmillstudio.com to schedule a time for their child  to paint in the garden  with Nan. The painting will be auctioned at the October 21 Art and Shop Walk at Art of Oconee and prints of the painting will be available for the children to give to the family and friends for special occasions.  Proceeds from the auction will go to fund future art activities in the community.

Nan is owner of Historic Mill Studio in Greensboro, Georgia where she paints and teaches oil painting. She is also a partner in Art of Oconee located in Lake Oconee Village.
